Student Relief Fund

The NMU Foundation has established the Wildcat 2020 Student Relief Fund to provide immediate and impactful support to our students under financial distress related to the COVID- 19 crisis.

Thank you for giving online. It provides the most efficient way to assist our students quickly.

The NMU Foundation will continue to provide guidance on how donors, alumni and other friends of the University can help to meet the ongoing needs of our students.

Our office is currently closed to walk-in traffic. However, you can still communicate with us by phone or email:

Phone:  906-227-2627

We wish you and your family well and thank you for your continued support of Northern Michigan University. Though apart, we remain connected as members of the Wildcat Family.

Gifts to the NMU Parent and Family Fund were used to help with the purchase of two vehicles for the BEAR Center-greatly improving access to critical therapy services to children with autism and other behavioral disorders across the UP. Your giving today is expanding opportunities for tomorrow.

This scholarship means so much to me. Nothing is scarier than wondering if you will have enough money to complete your degree this close to graduation. This scholarship has not only given me financial help, but a confidence boost in knowing that I am being supported by people who want to see me succeed. Thank you for helping me during my final semester and for helping me achieve my goal of receiving a college degree.

Thank you,

NMU Day of Giving was wild! With your help, we raised over $850,000 - nearly double last year's total.

  • Over half the gifts will support scholarships.
  • Nearly $100,000 will benefit departments and specific programs.
  • The remainder will be directed to areas of greatest need.
  • The NMU Food Pantry received over 2,600 non-perishable items and over $6,000.

Thank you for the impact you made on our students!
